For Savvy Buyers Only! | East Lake is the ATL’s Best Kept Secret

If you’re looking for a home that is destined to climb in value, take a look at East Lake. With approximately 500 people moving to Atlanta per DAY, intown home inventory is hotter than ever. Ask anyone who is searching for a home in one of the intown neighborhoods right now. Homes are flying off the market. I had 15 requests for showing appointments on Easter Sunday that I couldn’t schedule because the homes were already under contract. Buyers and Renters alike are in a frenzy! When you finally find a home that isn’t under contract, you’ll have to be ready to make an offer quickly.  With all the competition, other Buyers will likely be submitting offers on the same home.

It’s no surprise that competition is fierce, Intown neighborhoods are simply the best. From Buckhead to Grant Park and everywhere in between, residents are privy to walkable neighborhoods, belt line access, great school systems and a bevy of intown commercial districts. If you simply MUST have access to all of those things, then get ready to enter the arena! Arm yourself with a local, knowledgeable agent who has access to listings the moment they come on the market and be prepared to make showing appointments at a moment’s notice.

However, there is another option. If you are content with being 10 minutes away from midtown and you’re not AS concerned with school districts, take a look at East Lake. This little neighborhood might be Atlanta’s best kept secret but don’t count on it remaining a secret for long! As an unprecedented number of people migrate to Atlanta, the peripheral neighborhoods are getting more and more attention. East Lake isn’t as swank as Inman Park or O4W – yet. Investors have been quietly buying up property in this quiet little community for quite a while now. If investors are putting their money down, then it’s a safe bet that values are set to climb.

It makes sense. East Lake benefits from lower Dekalb taxes and, can we all agree, better tasting water. A short 10 minute drive will get you to CNN center or Midtown via I-20 & I-75. Looking for local flavor? Two minutes in the car can land you in hip and trendy EAV or quaint Oakhurst Village.  Easy access to the city and a neighborhood of steadily improving homes will quickly grow East Lake into the next hip ‘hood. Check it out! Homes are still very affordable but probably not for too much longer!
